Words of Inspiration and Motivation

Teaching...can be likened to a conversation in which you listen to the speaker carefully before you reply.     Marie Clay
If children are apparently unable to learn, we should assume that we have not as yet found the right way to teach them. Marie Clay

"The child is truly a miraculous being, and this should be felt deeply by the educator."
Maria Montessori

“It’s not all about you, you gotta take your ego out of it and think about what’s best for this child… and you care about them enough to help them transition to what’s next, what comes next, what’s best.”
-Renatta M. Cooper

  1. The second quote you posted spoke to me. We should always be looking for new ways to teach and reach the children. We have to become lifelong learners because our students needs change every year. Today we have inclusion, ESL, and Special Ed. Each child is special and unique and we have to work hard to prepare them to become our future leaders!

  2. I really enjoyed all of the quotes you posted by Maria Montessori. She is a true inspiration to all of us in the early childhood field. In response to the third quote, we as educators need to be truly invested in a child's well being in order to help them become successful!

  3. The 2nd quote reminded me of a time when I became frustrated from not seeing progress in a student after 1 year. Granted it appeared she was unable to "learn" but the real deal was I didn't know the right way to reach her. Great quote because it reminds us to share responsibility for student learning.

  4. The pictures Of Maria Montessori and Lilian Katz are very nice. Every child is unique, we should strive to bring out the best in the lives of these children. It is not about the testing , it is about the child's success.

  5. Your Marie Clay quotes has inspired me to learn more about her. I espcially like the quote about finding the right way to teach children. Society today is so quick to lable children with learning disabilities. If we just slowed down and tried new methods maybe we could avoid these lables.
